Irene Beatriz Olalla-Ramírez is a researcher and FPU contract lecturer in the Department of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the University of Granada, as well as a member of the Cultural Studies Research Unit of the Belgian university KU Leuven under an international co-supervision scheme for the completion of her doctoral thesis. Also at the University of Granada, she graduated in Comparative Literature and obtained a Master's degree in Literary and Theatre Studies. Her research focuses on Comparative Literature studies, especially on intermedial, transmedial and interartistic studies, as well as on studies of otherness and the writing of migrant authors in European Literatures and Belgian Literature in particular. Her thesis analyses inter-artistic, intermedial and transmedial relations in the novelistic and theatrical works of several Belgian authors, and their adaptations to other arts such as opera, cinema and comics.
